Job Description

We are recruiting a Rig Services Engineer for our client in Aberdeen, this is an initial 12 month contract role.

Role Description
• The Platform Rig Services Electrical Engineer requires to oversee and manage the maintenance of the equipment and drilling facilities on the company assets. Plan and ensure the drilling assets are in a safe state of readiness to accept a
drill crew in line with the company plans. To be able to react at short notice to a change in the plan or to any un-expected equipment failures.
• Manage and work with the main drilling contractor’s maintenance teams, give guidance and direction to the level of maintenance required for each asset, equipment standardisation, levels of spares, planning requirements and budget review.
• Continually review the SAP maintenance system, its routines and implementation by the drilling contractor. Work with the drilling contractor and advise on any improvements or any changes required
• Ensure good planning and direction is maintained during the implementation of rig readiness, equipment replacements or any upgrade. Review and work with third parties to verify and advise on all technical aspects of equipment and the levels of certification
required.
• Monitor the actual work carried out is in accordance with the maintenance strategies and ensure that the ANSL management of change is followed by the contractor(s).
• Technically advise the contractor(s) on the type and levels of certification required for any piece of existing or new equipment purchased and measure them against the company performance standards where appropriate.
• Liaise with the departments within company namely: - Safety HSE, Well Services, Integrity, Projects, Purchasing and the various Technical Authorities to ensure a clear picture is maintained for optimized operations throughout the assets

Detailed Responsibilities
• Planning and execution of rig re-activation scopes to ensure efficient rig start-up
• Liaising with contractor and Projects team as required for planning and execution of any planned Hydraulic Workover Unit mobilisations to ensure efficient project start up
• Assist to maintain minimum downtime during drilling/workover/P&A operations
• Allow a safe transition for crews from platform to platform with a minimal start-up period
• Ensure that all statutory obligations are adhered to and that the assets meet these
• Assist in delivering continual improvement in HSEQ performance
• Common strategy to standardise equipment
• Deliver continual improvement and strive with 3rd party contractors to reach operational excellence
• Review the continual advances in technology, new tools and techniques that can potentially offer efficiencies and cost savings
• Continually review the equipment requirements against the Performance standards
• Monitor the levels of maintenance required on each asset and adjust to suit the forward plan
• Ensure adequate third-party Quality Assurance and Quality Control
• Greater integration of the maintained drawings, maintenance and certification into the SAP system
• Minimise any risk to the platform equipment and operation

Experience
• Worked within the Oil Industry previously in an engineering or offshore position, within Electrical Engineering.
• Sound understanding of the Drilling Equipment, Process and Procedures
• Experience of Management of Change, Project management and Commissioning
• Knowledge of the safety, environmental and operations aspects in a Client/Operator environment.
• Strong safety/environmental awareness – understanding of legislative requirements.
• Demonstrate industry experience working to an advanced level of competence.

Training & Qualifications
Essential
• Extensive industry experience
• Engineering or Science based qualification
• Region minimum training requirements (BOSIET, MIST etc)

Desirable
• Engineering or Science based HNC
• Project Management qualification
