Job Description

Fire Alarm Engineer

You will normally be required to work 40 hours each week from 0800 to 1700 Monday to Thursday with 30 minutes unpaid for lunch and 0800 to 1400pm on a Friday.
Applicants must have a positive attitude towards work be happy to work on their own but also have the ability to work as part of a team.

Job Purpose
To assist the company in providing a high degree of professionalism, competence and attention to customer requirements and to carry out work in accordance with current British Standards and amendments.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
• To carry out routine service, test, inspection and maintenance of fire alarm equipment
• To install fire alarm systems
• Identify and fix faults in fire alarm systems
• Attend call outs
• To assist Senior Fire Alarm Engineer with design, installation, testing and maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems
• To test emergency light systems
• To complete all relevant paperwork both on and off site and to accurately maintain all records as required by the company
• To assist in loading and unloading of stock when required
• To ensure that storage area is kept clean and tidy at all times
• To follow company service procedures and work instructions, complying with current Health and Safety standards.
• To wear and look after personal protective clothing and equipment provided by the company at all times
• To assist in carrying out quality control inspection of purchased materials as detailed by the company
• To ensure the company Health and Safety procedures are fully adhered to at all times, particularly in respect of manual handling and the storage of goods
• To ensure the companies waste management policy is adhered to at all times
• To assist with stock taking and accurately records the results
• To carry out all other reasonable management instructions and requests

Desired Qualities/Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy is considered vital for this role
• Honesty and self-motivation is vital for this role
• A valid driving license is essential for this role
• A valid passport is essential for this role
• Must be confident and professional whilst dealing with clients
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Must be presentable ensuring company uniform provided is worn at all times
