Job Description
Reporting to the Maintenance & Integrity Manager the role of Equipment Maintenance Advisor — Mechanical Support is a member of the discipline engineering team supporting the delivery of safe, compliant and predictable operations. The purpose of the role is to provide technical support to address maintenance and engineering issues on mechanical systems, and to coordinate work in line with maintenance strategies to identify facilities improvements to improve safety, reliability and reduce costs.
Responsible for providing support to the offshore operations team when required relating to mechanical systems operability, isolation requirements and strategy, troubleshooting etc. Accountable for preparing work in accordance with activity planning process, adhering to gate criteria and stage gate readiness expectations.
Responsible for reviewing maintenance test results and assessment of equipment integrity
Responsible for the identification and documenting of performance standard non-compliances based on site reports and identification of actions to mitigate and resolve. Escalate to Mechanical TA where required.
Responsible for tracking equipment health and spares availability for key equipment and to highlight any potential safety or production related risks.
Responsible for providing technical recommendations to resolve discipline issues including EQ’s. Responsible for participating in reviews of operating conditions, operating parameters, inspection tasks, and maintenance intervals for discipline related equipment.
Responsible for participating in root cause failure investigations on discipline related equipment (support investigations and actions arising from PUR process).
Provide hands on engineering support to troubleshoot or optimise asset performance.
Set up and administer operational, maintenance and technical support contracts (OEM vendors & specialty contractors).
Participate in operational risk assessments and provide technical input as required by ISSOW. Provide input where require to support IVB surveys and responses to IVB findings.
Identify technical recommendations to Maintenance and Integrity Mgr. that should be progressed as FCPs.
Initiate projects to improve the facilities.
Develop technical justification and financial analysis when required (e.g. benefit-cost ratio) for projects as part of FCP proposal phase.
Liaise with modification group in development of FCP proposal cost estimates.
Develop technical statements of requirements (SOR) for handover to Modifications group as part of FCP proposals
Manage study work performed by vendors in support of project justification
Where assigned as JRE implement low complexity modifications (EQ/ SMoC) in accordance with FCP requirements.
Provide technical endorsement of FAT/SAT procedures as directed
Support to modifications as necessary in installation, commissioning and handover
Desired Qualities/Qualifications
Trade apprenticeship in Mechanical discipline
• Preferably a degree in a Mechanical Engineering subject
• Good knowledge of on/offshore oil and gas related process, systems and equipment
• Experience of using SAP (or equivalent) computerised maintenance management system
